In an introductory lesson you will learn:
- Learn how to form a basic embouchure (the position of the lips and mouth) to produce a sound on the saxophone.
- Learn basic saxophone performance techniques
- Learn to play a simple song using your newly learnt techniques
Typical techniques covered include:
- Breathing
- Breath support
- Posture
- Basic fingerings
In a typical 30 minute regular lesson you will learn:
- How to develop a good saxophone sound
- To develop a good, even fingering technique
- How to articulate clearly to make tunes sound more interesting
- To perform different styles: pop, rock, blues, jazz, classical and learning to read music
- When you are playing well, I offer performing opportunities to everyone who is interested
- Exam preparation is available for those who wish. I have an excellent history of preparing candidates successfully for AMEB exams.I am also a saxophone examiner for the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB)
